Yoga  Meditation over the Christmas Holiday:

This year there will be no sessions from Monday 22nd December 2025 until the 5th January 2026. This is due to a mix of closures of the premises we use and also annual Leave. 

​

All of the weekly sessions will return to normal from Monday 5th January.

Update on the Prison Yoga @ HMP Bristol at the end 2025:

​Throughout 2025 Matt has continued to volunteer weekly in HMP Bristol as a yoga & meditation teacher. As well as the regular faces each week we have seen new people every week willing to see if yoga is for them, and if it can help with a living through a custodial sentence.

​

This year Matt has taught on average 14 men yoga & meditation each week in the prison 

​

As of  the end of 2025 the project has given out 89 brand new yoga mats to men who have developed a regular self practice, outside of the weekly sessions. These mats are a gift that are given to the men to encourage them to keep practicing.

​

The mats are purchased via donations from supporters. we are looking to purchase more mats for 2026 so if you would like to donate towards this, donations towards the mats can be made via the 'Prison Yoga' page on this site.

Alongside the weekly yoga sessions for the General Wings', Matt has continued teaching  yoga and meditation to men on the Incentivised Substance Free Living (ISFL) Unit; who are in recovery from substance misuse. The aim of the weekly sessions  being to develop a self practice that helps ground a person and develop new skills to cope with life on life’s terms; and live a sober life, whilst using tried and tested techniques from ancient wisdom.

Also, he is working alongside for the Prison Phoenix Trust (PPT), Change Grow Live  (CGL) and Probation Service to deliver a programme for the Integrated Offender Management programme  (IOM), a partnership approach to manage and supervise men flagged  persistent and problematic offenders in the community. It is a framework designed to reduce crime and reoffending by coordinating a multi-agency response to address the issues that contribute to offenders' behaviour.
